Mechanically they are about the same (Q5 has better 4wd but it's unlikely to ever matter), the Q5 is nicer to be in and the Tiguan is new. When I got my Tiguan a year and a bit ago the other option was the Q3 which was nicer but was 10k more, so Tiguan it was (more than nice enough). Other than that not much to add.
