The 2.0 never had a DPF and has a 5 speed box. The 2.2 Auto has one as standard. The 2.2 Manual DPF was a cost option and came with 6 cogs. Any car "getting on a bit" may show some signs of suspension wear, listen out for knocks, bangs, clunks and clonks over bumps and rough road surfaces. The oil level may well be increasing from fuel dilution due to incomplete DPF regenerations. Sounds very likely and about the only problem I had with my 2.7. Hi alh2k, I bought the car in 2017 with 200 k on the clock and it had full service history from Jaguar. I have had absolutely no problems with the engine - it runs really well and smooth and I get on average between 7.0 and 7.6 litres per 100 km fuel ecomomy. I try to drive reasonable most of the time.

remove the black plastic bracket that also holds a hot water pipe, but also acts as a clip for the sensor. it is all located behind the grill, so unless you want to remove the complete grill, remove this clip/bracket only. this will give you access to the assembly which can be pulled through the grill.

Original 'maps' are usually preserved to reset if the vehicle doesn't respond too well. The Jaguar XF is classed as an executive car or mid-size luxury car.
